Kevin Costner does a good job portraying a terminally-ill CIA agent and Hailee Steinfeld does great as his rebellious, yet estranged teenage daughter. '3 Days to Kill' also has some touching father-daughter moments between the two actors with great chemistry. There's not much to say with Amber Heard, who doesn't show emotion throughout the whole film as Costner's dealer/boss. What I'm getting at is that while this film has its moments, I just don't have the heart to say that this is a real good movie. But it's close enough to break through the mold as a decent action-film.

Kevin Costner is everything a spy would want to be, but as a father, he is lacking. In attempt to reconnect with his estranged Wife and daughter he hardly knows we get a movie that feels slightly awkward between the family bonding and the on going killing spree he is racking up. But it proves to be an enjoyable ride that comes together nicely, leaving me satisfied at it's conclusion.

I had 2 hours to kill (rather than 3 days) and foolishly believed the 4 star rating on Netflix, but had I done my research more thoroughly (like read any review on here) I would have given it a pass, and so should you. Luc Besson may only be producer here but this film attempts to do the same for Costner as Taken did for Neeson. It has the same appalling attitude to violence, with the added ingredients of a mawkish family plot and an ill - judged sense of humour
